When Is Render Repair Required?

Render repair may be appropriate where defects are localised and the underlying façade remains suitable for retention.

Common defects include:

Localised delamination or hollow areas
Impact damage
Deteriorated joints and sealants

The cause of the defect needs to be established before repair. Where damage extends into the substrate, insulation or wider wall system, more extensive remediation may be required.

Repairing Different Render Systems

The appropriate repair depends on the existing façade construction and render system.

This may include render applied directly to masonry or render forming part of an EWI system, with consideration given to the substrate, insulation, reinforcement, movement joints, interfaces and existing finish.

Where defects are widespread or the underlying EWI system is compromised, EWI Remediation or replacement may be more appropriate.
