HPL Cladding Removal

Trident Facades provides HPL cladding removal services for buildings where high-pressure laminate cladding is being removed as part of façade remediation or replacement works.

The removal process is planned around the existing façade construction, access requirements, temporary protection and the requirements of the replacement system.

Removing The Existing HPL System

HPL panels form only one part of an external wall system. Behind them may be insulation, membranes, support rails, cavity barriers, fire stopping and other components.

Removal is planned to safely dismantle and remove the existing HPL system while exposing the underlying construction for assessment and preparation for the replacement façade.

Our HPL Removal Service

Works include:

  • Site preparation
  • Access arrangements
  • Scaffolding or MEWPs
  • Temporary protection
  • Controlled dismantling
  • HPL panel removal
  • Removal of associated rails and fixings where required
  • Segregation
  • Disposal
  • Exposure of underlying wall construction
  • Protection of retained components
  • Preparation for replacement

Investigation During Removal

Removal can provide access to areas of the external wall that were previously concealed.

Where further investigation is required, our dedicated survey team, Trident Facades Surveys, can undertake opening-up and assessment to establish the actual wall construction and condition.

This can help confirm the requirements for the replacement system before installation begins.

Preparing For Replacement

Once the HPL system has been removed, the exposed façade can be assessed and prepared for the new system.

Depending on the project, this may include:

  • Substrate repairs
  • Insulation replacement
  • Membrane replacement
  • Cavity barrier installation
  • Fire stopping
  • New support rails and fixings
  • Waterproofing and interface works
  • Replacement cladding

Complete HPL Replacement Service

HPL removal can be provided as a standalone service or as part of a complete façade replacement project.

Trident Facades can coordinate the wider process from investigation and design through removal, preparation and installation.
